Niue does not really have a quiet season, but the rhythm changes. The humpback whales move on, the trade winds ease, and the island settles into the long, warm months before Christmas. As the season turns, we have lowered the daily rate on four of our most requested vehicles.
From 20 October 2026, the Mazda CX-5 is $100 a day, down from $150. The Honda Stepwagon, Mazda Biante and Toyota Voxy are $90 a day, down from $95. Every hire still includes unlimited kilometres, comprehensive insurance, free airport collection, free island-wide delivery and 24/7 breakdown support.
The Mazda CX-5 at $100 a day
The CX-5 is our five-seat diesel SUV. It sits high enough to see over the coral walls along the coast road, it is automatic and easy through Alofi, and it has the boot space for snorkel gear, a chilly bin and a week of luggage. If you plan to drive the whole island, including the sea tracks on the east coast, this is the vehicle most of our guests ask for.
Three family vans at $90 a day
If you are travelling with family or a small group, a van does the job no sedan can. All three are automatic and petrol, all three have sliding doors that open in tight car parks, and all three carry far more luggage than their footprint suggests.
Honda Stepwagon, seven seats
The Stepwagon is the roomiest of the three. Seven full seats, a high roofline and rear seats that fold flat when you need to move bags, groceries or dive tanks. It is the van we send out most often for families with teenagers.
Mazda Biante, six seats
The Biante trades a little seat count for a taller cabin and a very easy step in. Grandparents, small children and anyone who finds a low car awkward will notice the difference, and the middle row still takes three across.
Toyota Voxy, seven seats
The Voxy pairs seven seats with a light, airy cabin and a low floor, which makes loading kids and bags simple. It is quiet on the road and narrow enough for the lanes around the villages.
